What are the special incentives and offers available?

Below are the details of the Community Power Energy Plans available through Origin (includes GST):

25% GreenPower @ $1/week extra*
25% of your homes electricity use will be sourced from accredited GreenPower generators.  Fixed rate per week.

50% GreenPower @ 2.75c/kWh extra*
50% of your home's electricity use will be sourced from accredited GreenPower generators.  Rate is per kWh.

100% GreenPower Wind @ 5.5c/kWh extra*
100% of your home's electricity use will be sourced from accredited GreenPower Wind Turbine generators. Rate is per kWh.

* GreenPower rates are in addition to Origin's Standard Published Rates and charges for your property.

Origin Green Gas

Natural gas is available at Standard Origin published rates.

Origin Green Gas @ $1 extra per week (optional).

How do the rebates work?

At the end of each 12 month period, you'll receive a rebate on your electricity bill from Origin.

  • A $100 rebate each year for 3 years - if you switch both your electricity and natural gas to Origin.

  • A $45 rebate each year for 2 years - if you switch your electricity only to Origin.

Community Power has developed a cost guide to help you decide which Community Power Energy Plan will best suit you.

Remember, with a Community Power Energy Plan you will get a rebate of up to $300 on your electricity bill over 3 years.

Special Offer for Whitehorse Residents - Additional $100 cash back!

As our newest Community Power partner, City of Whitehorse is celebrating by offering an additional Council rebate of up to $100 cash back to Whitehorse residents who join Community Power before March 1, 2010.

Special Additional Offer - Whitehorse Residents Cash Back Offer
The Whitehorse City Council is offering the first 100 Whitehorse residents that sign up to the Community Power Program before March 1, 2010 a one-off rebate from Council that applies in addition to the Community Power Origin rebate.

The Council rebate will be processed directly by Whitehorse City Council. Community Power customers need to fill out a Rebate Application Form and send a copy of their Community Power Participation Letter they receive from Origin after signing-up. Council rebate forms are also available from the Whitehorse City Council Customer Service Centres.

Whitehorse Rebates:

  • A one-off rebate of $100 applies to the first 50 people to join the Community Power Program and purchase $100 GreenPower Accredited Wind Turbine Generators option.

  • A one-off rebate of $50 applies to the first 30 people to join the Community Power Program and purchase the 50% GreenPower option.

  • A one-off rebate of $20 applies to the first 20 people to join the Community Power Program and purchase 25% GreenPower option.

 Whitehorse Rebate Eligibility Requirements:

  • The first 50 residents to join the Community Power Program and sign up to 100% GreenPower.

  • The first 30 residents to sign up to 50% GreenPower through the Community Power Program.

  • The first 20 residents to sign up to 25% GreenPower through the Community Power Program.

  • The cut off date is March 1, 2010.

  • Whitehorse City Council requires Community Power customers to fill out a Rebate Application Form and send a copy of their Community Power Participation Letter they receive from Origin after signing-up.  Council Rebate Forms are also available from Whitehorse City Council Customer Service Centres.

  • The rebate is a one-off offer for City of Whitehorse residents only.

  • No household can apply for the rebate more than once.

  • Whitehorse City Council rebates will be issued upon verification of households signing up to Community Power, as evidenced by the Origin quarterly report, therefore you can expect a 3 month wait on your rebate.
